Legarda, Escudero to run as NPC Senate candidates during Eleksyon 2022 –Sotto

Former senators Loren Legarda and Chiz Escudero will run as Nationalist People's Coalition senatorial candidates during Eleksyon 2022, NPC acting chairman and Senate President Vicente Sotto III said.

"Ah, yes, oo," Sotto said in a radio interview after he was asked if Legarda and Escudero will become senatorial candidates of NPC.

Sotto said Legarda was a "full-blooded" member of the NPC, while Escudero was just on leave.

"Pero NPC pa rin siya (Escudero). 'Di naman siya nag-re-resign," Sotto said.

(Escudero is still with the NPC. He did not resign.)

Sotto added Senator Sherwin Gatchalian will also seek a return to the Senate next year under the NPC.

Legarda currently serves as a House deputy speaker and the representative of the lone district of Antique, while Escudero is the governor of Sorsogon province. — DVM, GMA News
