NO VP RUN

Cayetano says he may run for president or reelection in Eleksyon 2022

Former speaker and Taguig-Pateros Representative Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday said he is not considering running for vice president in the 2022 national elections.

In an ambush interview, Cayetano said at present, he is considering running for president or he might seek reelection.

“I’m considering just either running for president or for reelection sa position ko ngayon,” Cayetano said.

“I’m not really considering for vice president… May mga nagsasabi na puwedeng mag-senador, but I’m really contemplating muna ano ang magiging future natin in the first year after Duterte,” he added.

Cayetano, who was President Rodrigo Duterte’s running mate in the 2016 elections, said he might announce his final plans for 2022 elections in the “next few weeks.”

The latest would be in September, he said.

Cayetano said he would check the moral compass of the other candidates, and that the 2022 budget would also be a big consideration for his political plan.

“Let’s see, magbi-bear din sa akin ‘yung 2022 budget, meaning kung napakaganda ng 2022 budget and tingin ko naman kahit sino maging presidente, magiging maganda implementation, but definitely titingnan ko rin ‘yung moral compass ng lahat ng tatakbo,” he said.  —KBK, GMA News
