Gordon says he has recovered from COVID-19

Senator Richard Gordon on Thursday said he has already recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“Yes. Nag-ingat lang tayo wala akong naramdaman. I was completely asymptomatic but because my wife, may autoimmune problem s’ya, siyempre in-ingatan ko ang asawa ko, ang mg katulong namin sa bahay, mga kasama sa Red Cross, mga staff ko sa Senado, ayaw kong mahawa sila sa akin,” Gordon said during the Laging Handa briefing when asked if he has already recovered from the respiratory disease.

(Yes. I just took precautionary measures but I didn’t feel any symptoms. I was completely asymptomatic but because my wife has an autoimmune problem, I need to protect her, our helpers, our staff in Red Cross, and our staff in the Senate.)

Last July 28, the senator announced that he has contracted COVID-19

He was admitted to the Makati Medical Center a day after due to COVID-related pneumonia.

The senator said he was already fully vaccinated against COVID-19 using the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Gordon was the sixth senator to catch COVID-19.

The other senators who tested positive for the disease were Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Sonny Angara, Aquilino Pimentel III, Ronald dela Rosa, and Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. — RSJ, GMA News
