Former Ifugao Rep. Baguilat, IP leader, to seek Senate seat

Former Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat on Thursday said he would run for senator in Eleksyon 2022.

"I am running for the Senate, so the Senate would have someone in its roster like myself who is from the ranks of the indigenous people who is an advocate for rights, including environmental rights," Baguilat told GMA News Online.

"The Senate has always been shaped by political dynasties, popular celebrities, multi-millionaires, lawyers and retired law enforcers or military people. It is about time we give a chance to someone from the IP community," he added.

Baguilat, a member of the Liberal Party, will file his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday afternoon, the last day of filing for COC. -Llanesca T. Panti/NB, GMA News
