6 killed, 15 missing in ComVal landslide

MANILA, Philippines - Six people were killed while 15 others were missing after a landslide hit Compostela Valley province Monday afternoon, the police said. In a text message, Compostela Valley police chief Senior Superintendent Ronald de la Rosa said the incident took place about 4 p.m. in Sitio Mangapispis, Barangay Napnapan in Pantukan town. Most of the victims were gold panners operating in the area, Dela Rosa said. The police are yet to release the names of the fatalities. Rescue operations are ongoing as of posting time. - GMANews.TV
