Drug gang leader, members nabbed in Naga hotel raid

Nine people were arrested during a drug raid conducted by the police on Saturday in a hotel in Naga City.

Members of the city's infamous Orcine Drug Group were allegedly caught in the act of using drugs in one of the rooms of the hotel.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives were dispatched to the area when they received a tip that drug transactions and sessions take place in the unnamed local hotel.

One of the CIDG officers pretended to be a buyer.

The group's alleged leader Eduardo Orcine and live-in partner Mara Mikee Aven were among those arrested.

The other suspects were identified as Diosdado Orcine, Mylene Onquit, Regino Galvante, Francis Tarilla, Peter John Marcial, Ramon Cambe, and John Gary Buendia.

The suspects denied that they were having a shabu session and that they were only invited by friends to go to the hotel.

The suspects said they had surrendered to the authorities last August through Project Tokhang and insisted that they haven't been using drugs since.

Police said they seized P50,000 worth of shabu and several drug paraphernalia during the raid. —report from Arnel Eclarinal/Jessica Bartolome/ALG, GMA News
