37 blocks of 'cocaine' found on Dinagat Islands shore —police

Authorities are examining 37 blocks of suspected cocaine seen abandoned on the shore of Dinagat Islands in Caraga (Region 13).

Super Radyo dzBB's Benjie Liwanag reported on "Dobol B sa News TV" that a fisherman saw the contraband on the shore last February 12 (Tuesday) and reported to local authorities.

But the Caraga Regional Police Office was informed of the contraband only this Friday at about 3 a.m., the report said.

An initial police information showed that a fisherman noticed the blocks on the shore of Barangay Poblacion of Cabayawan town in Dinagat at about 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday and immediately reported to local authorities.

However, a report from Region 13 Police Office indicated that regional police authorities were informed of the contraband before dawn this Friday.

Police said the contraband has been brought to Butuan City police crime laboratory for examination, the report said. —LBG, GMA News
