Residents evacuated in Cagayan ahead of landfall of Ramon
Some towns in Cagayan implemented forced and preemptive evacuation of residents before the expected landfall of Tropical Storm Ramon, according to a report by Jun Veneracion on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in Cagayan said more than 80 families have been evacuated from landslide- and flood-prone areas.
Classes have been canceled in all levels in the province, in all public and private schools, from preschool to graduate school.
Ramon is expected to make landfall over Northern Cagayan between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
The storm may intensify prior to making landfall, according to PAGASA.

PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 on Monday over Cagayan as Ramon (international name: Kalmaegi) intensifies on its way to the province's northern part.
All areas under TCWS No. 2 will experience winds of 61-120 kph in 24 hours.
The provincial government imposed a liquor ban effective 6 a.m. Monday.
Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said the liquor ban will be in effect until lifted.
The ban on the sale and drinking of alcohol during stormy weather is a measure adopted by local governments to ensure residents' safety.
On Monday, residents of the municipality of Santa Ana started to feel the effects of the oncoming storm.
Rains, though light, have been continuously pouring over the area, and waves are starting to get stronger.
Residents have been busy preparing for flooding in Santa Ana, since they do not want a repeat of the flooding that happened recently due to Typhoon Quiel. —KG, GMA News
