Benguet farmers donate vegetables to Taal victims

Farmers and traders in La Trinidad, Benguet have donated large amounts of fresh vegetables to those affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Photos provided by the La Trinidad police show trucks leaving for Batangas on Wednesday full of bags of produce.

According to a Balitanghali report, Benguet vegetables will be heading their way to Laguna and Cavite as well, to be delivered by the La Trinidad PNP.

Taal Volcano's eruption on Sunday, January 12, has led to the evacuation of thousands of nearby residents, the devastation of crops, and the death of livestock and wildlife.

An alert level 4 has been issued over the volcano, meaning that a hazrdous eruption is imminent, or possible in hours or days. — BM, GMA News
