Nueva Ecija drug rehab center turned into 500-room quarantine facility

The mega drug rehabilitation facility the government put up in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija has been turned into a quarantine facility set to open next week.

Government officials led by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon, and Health Undersecretary and Treatment Czar Leopoldo Vega visited the facility on Friday.

The quarantine facility will have 500 spacious air-conditioned rooms, of which 478 will be for COVID-19 patients and the rest for medical staff.

The Bureau of Quarantine will oversee the facility.

All patients will be given free meals and Wi-Fi connection aside from 24/7 medical care and assistance.

The government has designated quarantine centers for COVID-19 patients who have only mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.
