Flood waters reach roofs in Batangas, residents flee

Flood waters reached the roofs of some houses in Batangas City on Sunday, photos from the Philippine Red Cross have shown.

Red Cross personnel are helping residents evacuate as typhoon Rolly continued its onslaught in Southern Tagalog.

Red Cross chairman Senator Richard Gordon said the humanitarian organization sent out rescue teams to Barangay San Isidro after residents called for help.

Rolly made its fourth landfall in Lobo, Batangas late Sunday afternoon.

State weather bureau PAGASA earlier said the cyclone was headed for the southeastern coast of Batangas. -NB, GMA News
