IATF places Isabela under GCQ until December 31

The government’s COVID-19 task force has placed the province of Isabela under general community quarantine (GCQ) until December 31 to curb the spread of COVID-19, Malacañang said Tuesday.

Palace spokesperson Harry Roque said the GCQ would not apply to Santiago City, an independent component city, citing the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) on Monday.

Roque said the IATF elevated the province’s quarantine status from modified GCQ to GCQ following the recommendation of Governor Rodolfo Albano III and available data on COVID-19 infections.

Metro Manila, Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao del Sur, Iligan City, Davao City, and Davao del Norte are also currently under GCQ while the rest of the country is under MGCQ. --Virgil Lopez/KBK, GMA News
