Bontoc Municipal Mayor Odsey tests positive for COVID-19


Bontoc Municipal Mayor Franklin Odsey has tested positive for COVID-19.

Odsey said he is asymptomatic and is under home quarantine, according to a report on Unang Balita by Jonathan Andal on Monday.

Meanwhile, work at the provincial local government offices in Bontoc, Mt. Province were suspended until Friday while the offices undergo disinfection.

Odsey announced earlier the lockdown imposed on barangays Bontoc Ili, Caluttit, Poblacion and Samoki starting Jan. 18. 

The lockdown in Bontoc Ili, Caluttit and Poblacion will be until January 24, while that in Samoki will be until Jan. 31.

Authorities placed the said areas under lockdown to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

As of Sunday, Mountain Province has recorded a total of 373 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Of this number, 153 recovered while one died.
