3 alleged drug ring members killed in Cebu buy-bust; P68M worth of shabu seized

Three suspected members of a drug ring were killed in a buy-bust operation in Cebu City on Thursday evening, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.

In a statement, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar identified one of the suspects as alias “Levon.”

He said different units of the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency encountered Levon and two unidentified male cohorts in Barangay Campo 4 in Talisay City and Barangay Tap Tap in Cebu City.

The encounter resulted in an armed confrontation, the PNP said.

Recovered items were 10 large packs containing suspected shabu weighing 10 kilos and worth P68 million, a black traveling bag, a silver Toyota Vios, a long and two short firearms.

According to the PNP, the confiscated items were submitted to the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit 7 for documentation and proper disposition.

“The PNP remains steadfast, under the PNP Intensified Cleanliness Policy, in fighting the bigger war on illegal drugs without let-up,” Eleazar said.

“The PNP offers no compromise for anyone found to be involved in illegal drugs activities. We remain constantly working with PDEA to crush the real enemy”, he added. -MDM, GMA News
