Party attended by Davao City exec raided; P1.5M worth of drugs seized

Some P1.5 million worth of party drugs were seized when government anti-drug agents raided a party at a beach resort in Davao de Oro over the weekend, according to a Balitanghali report on Tuesday. 

The report said Davao City chief information officer Jeffrey Tupas attended the party held last Saturday but left after eating and prior to the  operation conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA ).

In a statement, the PDEA said at least 17 suspects were arrested, including Revsan Ethelbert Papay Elizalde, 33, who was the subject of the operation.

Elizalde was arrested for allegedly selling suspected illegal drugs to a poseur buyer, according to the PDEA. He allegedly sold one sachet with suspected party drug worth P2,000 and suspected marijuana wrapped in plastic cellophane worth P6,000.

The PDEA said his cohorts identified as Eana Faye Marie Olea, Bryk Jiordan Archival, Kurk Bryan Tiubot, and Paolo Guerero were also arrested.

After allegedly getting caught having a drug session, 12 more people were arrested who are identified as: Jomark Aping, Ariel Bueno, Edel Caballero, Ronald Chuan, Fritz Dinopol, Tom Jhun Doblas, Mark Christopher Isip, Janlord Masong, Christopher Prudente, Jesus Ragas III, Giovanni Tabanao, and Jason Viduya.

Recovered from the operation were:

• 26 pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachets with suspected dried marijuana leaves in different sizes weighing more or less 200 grams worth P24,000.
• three pieces transparent plastic sachets with suspected shabu in different sizes weighing more or less 10 grams worth P150,000,
• around 722 suspected party drug tablets/capsules worth P1,227,400,
• nine plastic bottles with suspected liquid party drugs worth P15,000,
• two vials containing suspected liquid party drugs worth P17,000,
• 77 pieces suspected LSD worth P130,000
• seven bottles of energy drinks

The suspects are currently detained at the National Bureau of Investigation detention facility. They will face complaint over violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to the PDEA, the confiscated illegal drugs were submitted to the PDEA Regional Office Laboratory for examination.
