YEARENDER 2015

PNoy, the SAF 44 and the Mamasapano clash

The year started on a not so pleasant note for President Benigno Aquino III when police commandos were killed in a what many called a misencounter in late January with members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, with which the government has signed a peace agreement.

The Mamasapano incident threw a monkey-wrench at the peace process after both houses of Congress stopped deliberations on the charter of the new Bangsamoro autonomous region. The sincerity of the MILF came into question after the bodies of the slain policemen bore signs of torture and overkill.

Let's take a look back at probably the worst controversy that hit the Aquino administration in 2015.
