What to eat?

Sutokil

Sutokil is a combination of dishes with grilled tuna, fish soup, and fresh fish or seafood with vinegar.
Sutokil came from the combination of three words: “su” for sugba which means grilled in Bisaya, “tu” for tuwa or soup, and “kil” for kilawin.

Camote delicacies

It may be a running joke but Camotes Island will not be named as such if it does not offer camote as a treat to its visitors. Here, a wide array of delicacies made from camote will surely fill your appetite. One of their bestsellers is the camote crinkles.

“Parang nakakain ko, camote macaroons. Lasang macaroons siya,” Drew says.

Another must-try is the camote pulvoron which is made from camote flour. To create camote flour, you will have to cut a sweet potato in strips and dry it. After drying, it is milled to be powderized.

Whether you are a thrill-seeker or just a traveler who wants to escape from the stressful world, Camotes Island is always open to welcome you. True enough, hindi ka rito mangangamote. ?Gerald Vista/BMS
