Members of a community of informal settlers in Navotas City have found a cheaper and faster route to take when they send their children to school, though it's not necessarily an easy one. Kids aged between 4 to 8 years old literally have to pass through a hole in the wall, fitting themselves in the street canal below.

The normal mode of transportation in the area is by pedicab, but parents, most of them jobless, find the P15 to P20 fare more than they could afford. To save on money, these kids crawl through the canal while their parents and other kids who are too big to pass under, use a rope to climb over the wall.
