Jessica Soho's one on one interview with Direk Marilou Diaz-Abaya

Master storyteller Marilou Diaz-Abaya  was interviewed in January of this year by Jessica Soho (for the program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho) about facing the most challenging story of her life — her battle with breast cancer. 

The late Direk Marilou reflected:  "What cancer has given me ... is time. It has given me time to think about my mortality and what my life is worth.  At the end of the day, what makes your life worth it is not so much what you've done but whom you loved."

Direk Marilou shared that in her final months, she wished to share her knowledge with other filmmakers.  “Usually when you find it’s only a matter of time, the tendency is not to get more.  The tendency is to give away.  Kaya nga ako nagtuturo.  Ituro na natin lahat ng alam natin dahil ayokong dalhin ito,” she told Jessica in one of the last interviews before her passing.
