Remains of slain OFW Jullebee Ranara arrives in Philippines

The remains of Jullebee Ranara, the Filipina household worker who was slain in Kuwait, reached Manila on Friday night.

As of 9:44 p.m., Emirates Airlines Flight EK 334, carrying the remains arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to perform an autopsy as requested by her family.

Senator Raffy Tulfo, who joined Ranara's family at the arrival venue, said the Kuwaiti government should issue a public apology.

"Kulang yan, gusto ko public apology para sa mga Pilipino. Failure to do so, e deployment ban talaga," he added.

The 17-year-old suspect in the killing is now under the Kuwaiti government's custody.

Tulfo offered insurance and scholarship grant to Ranara's family.

"Yung isa sa mga anak yun ang nakausap ko pero all of them are very very sad," he said.

"Kahit makipag-areglo yung pamilya ng biktima, para sa akin dapat i-pursue pa rin ng ating gobyerno yung pagsasampa ng kaso para talagang makulong at makakuha ng hustisya yung ating OFW," Tulfo said. —Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
