Luli Arroyo-Bernas presents credentials as PHL envoy to Austria

The eldest daughter of former President and now Pampanga Second district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has presented her credentials as non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Croatian President Zoran Milanovi.

Evangelina Lourdes A. Bernas, the Philippine ambassador to Austria, presented her credentials in a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Zagreb held on June 27, 2023.

According to the post on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) website, "Ambassador Bernas conveyed the warm felicitations of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and her firm commitment to further strengthen Philippines-Croatia relations."

She also met with Presidential Adviser for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicari, Director General for Political Affairs Petar Mihatov of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MFEA), and the Secretary of the Cabinet for Economy, Energy, and Climate Helena Kasani of the Office of the President.

Arroyo-Bernas was quoted as saying that there is an increase in the number of Filipinos living and working in Croatia.

She also expressed a commitment to "further deepen cooperation in labor, maritime, and defense areas, as well as other areas of bilateral relations." — BAP, GMA Integrated News
