OFW assault by employer in Hong Kong caught on camera

A Filipina migrant worker in Hong Kong was caught on camera being attacked by her employer.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Monday, overseas Filipino worker (OFW) April Jane Dadula was showing her belongings in a Facebook live video when her female employer suddenly attacked and strangled her.

Dadula resigned from her job and was waiting at the airport when the incident occurred. She cried for help and attempted to get away but her employer ran after her.

The report said Dadula left her work for fear of getting accused of theft.  The employer was arrested following the incident, but got out of detention after posting bail.

The OFW is currently staying in a shelter while awaiting her flight to the Philippines.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas has reached out to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and to the employer for comment.
