Egypt in need of Filipinos to train local nurses
Egypt announced it is open to hiring Filipino nurses to train their local nurses following a meeting between Egyptian and Filipino officials.
According to JP Soriano’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the Egyptian government is seeking to learn practices from Filipino nurses, who have been in demand in other countries like the United States, Canada, and the Middle East.
“There will be Filipino trainers traveling to Egypt and actually spending a very long time training Egyptian nurses,” said Minister of the Religious Endowment of Arab Republic of Egypt Osama Al-Azhari.
A training agreement between Egypt and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos was also signed. Under the deal, Filipino imams and jurists will be brought to Egypt to train and learn about Sharia or the Islamic Law.
Meanwhile, the Philippine government also strengthened its partnership with Lithuania on the hiring of Filipino workers.
The Department of Migrant Workers said that Lithuania has a bigger demand now for Filipino workers in various fields such as health, maritime, transportation, construction, and food services. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
