SSS ensures OFWs in Middle East can access benefits online amid conflict
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Middle East may still access their benefits despite ongoing tensions in the region.
In a statement on Thursday, the Social Security System (SSS) said that its online My.The SSS Portal remains active as a reliable platform for OFWs to file claims and loan applications, even as the conflict continues.
"Even in these challenging times, our digital infrastructure ensures seamless service delivery… Members in the Middle East need not worry; they can manage their accounts safely from anywhere with internet access,” said SSS president Robert Joseph de Claro.
"We remain committed to supporting our OFWs through innovation and resilience, no matter the circumstances,” he added.
He further said that the SSS has implemented advancements in its systems that will also help make benefits more accessible.
Such initiatives include the SSS’s online face verification system for the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP), which was launched on March 11 as part of its digitization efforts.
“These tools were purpose-built to empower OFWs, allowing transactions 'whenever, wherever' even in crisis zones,” said de Claro. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
