The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Monday said they have not received any report yet of a Filipino affected by the flooding in Nepal on Sunday after a landslide occurred.

"Sa ngayon we are still coordinating with our embassy out of New Delhi, nasasakop ang Nepal. Hindi naman ganu'n karami ang mga OFW sa Nepal, higit kumulang mga trenta hanggang kuwarenta," DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said in an interview on Unang Balita.

(For now, we are still coordinating with our embassy out of New Delhi which services Nepal. There are not so many overseas Filipino workers in Nepal, more or less there are 30 to 40 of them.)

"Karamihan sa kanila nasa capital ng (Most of them are in the capital of) Kathmandu so we continue to coordinate with the embassy in New Delhi," Cacdac said.

"But so far, wala namang napaulat na kabilang sa panibagong trahedya na ito," he said.

(But so far, no one was reported affected by this new tragedy.)

Cacdac advised OFWs needing assistance to call the DMW hotline 1348. Relatives of OFWs may also inquire via the hotline, he said.

A landslide in Chumnubri village in Gorkha district, about 100 km (62 miles) west of Kathmandu, blocked the Budhi Gandaki River, leading to downstream flooding, authorities said, according to a report by Reuters.
