The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh advised Filipinos in Saudi Arabia and Yemen that it will be on holiday from November 1 to 7. In a news release, the embassy said the holiday is in observance of the the All Saints Day and for Hajj and Eid Al-Adha holidays. "The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh informs the Filipinos in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen and the public that it will be closed from 01 to 07 November 2011 in observance of the All Saints Day and for Hajj and Eid Al-Adha holidays," it said. The embassy said regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shall resume on Tuesday, November 8, right after the Eid Al-Adha holidays. The holidays had been shortened to five working days, including All Saints Day, instead of 10 working days, as practiced by the host government. During the holidays, the Embassy will assign duty desk officers 24/7 to attend to urgent needs of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, which the embassy's jurisdiction covers.
