Kapuso actresses to star on GMA Life TV drama series

Top Kapuso actresses – Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, Angelika dela Cruz, and Maxene Magalona — will star in two new drama series on GMA Life TV. GMA Life TV is one of the international channels of GMA Network. Calzado and Dizon will star in “Impostora (The Impostor)," while Dela Cruz and Magalona will appear on “Una Kang Naging Akin (You Were Mine First)." “Impostora" and “Una Kang Naging Akin" are part of the channel’s "Stories of Life" drama genre. These two new shows will be GMA Life TV's first English-dubbed Pinoy drama series. Joseph Francia, Vice President and Head of Operations for GMA International, said, “This initiative is in line with our thrust to make GMA Life TV’s programming even more relevant to the needs of its growing viewership around the world." "Stories of Life" Aside from "Stories of Life" dramas, GMA Life TV also has other genres – reality and talk, fashion, cooking, kiddie, sports, info, and religious. The "Stories of Life" series includes:

  • “Ikaw Sana" (Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, and Pauleen Luna);
  • “Daisy Siete" (SexBomb Girls with Rochelle Pangilinan);
  • the youth-oriented romantic series “Love to Love";
  • the drama anthology “Maynila" (hosted by former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza); and
  • the movie blocks “Pinoy Cine Klasika" (hosted by German “Kuya Germs" Moreno) and “Reel Life." Meanwhile, the stars of upcoming reality and talk shows on GMA Life TV include:
  • Ali Sotto in “Personalan;"
  • the wacky tandem of Carmina Villarroel and Mike “Pekto" Nacua in “Day Off;" and
  • Pinoy Rock Legend Pepe Smith and his children Queenie, Sanya, and Beebop in “The Smiths." For its fashion or "Styles of Life" genre, GMA Life TV offers several shows that include:
  • half-Filipina, half-French Solenn Heussaff's reality makeover show “Fashbook;"
  • Ricky Reyes' “Life and Style with Gandang Ricky Reyes;"
  • “Generation M: Search for the Philippines’ Top Fashion Crew 2011;" and
  • Tonipet Gaba's “Pop Talk." For its "Food for Life" genre, GMA Life TV offers:
  • “Sarap At Home," led by host Sam Oh;
  • “Delicioso" with real-life best friends Sam Oh and Chef Jackie Ang-Po;
  • “Quickfire" with Chef Rosebud Benitez;
  • “My Favorite Recipes" with China Cojuangco; and
  • “Idol Sa Kusina," with Master Chef Pablo “Boy" Logro. For kids, GMA Life TV has the following shows:
  • “Amazing Cooking Kids," a reality cooking competition for kids hosted by Carmina Villarroel;
  • “Tropang Potchi," a kiddie variety, talent, and game show all rolled into one; and
  • “My Chubby World," an educational show for children. GMA Life TV's "Active Life" genre meanwhile features the country’s premier women’s volleyball league in Shakey’s V-League’s Open Conference, participated by school members Ateneo de Manila University, San Sebastian College, and University of Perpetual Help Dalta Systems, teams from Philippine Air Force, Philippine Army, and Philippine Navy, plus the commercial squad of Maynilad Water Services, Inc.. Completing GMA Life TV's lineup are magazine shows (“Ang Pinaka," “Pinoy Records," “Balik-Bayan," “Pinoy MD," “Hanep Buhay," “Balitanghali," among others) and religious programs that cater to Filipinos (“The 700 Club Asia," “Diyos at Bayan," “Midnight Prayer Helps," “PJM Forum," and “Adyenda"). “We at GMA Life TV desire to provide our subscribers abroad a complete television viewing experience that suits the Filipino taste.
