Philippine officials in Saudi Arabia will launch soon the Arabic version of the Philippine tourism slogan, "It's more fun in the Philippines." In a news release, Ambassador Ezzedin Tago disclosed this in a meeting with officials of the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) led by Secretary General Saeed Al-Asmari on January 17. Tago said the Philippine government will soon launch tourism promotional materials in the Arabic language. DOT slogan The “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign of the Department of Tourism (DOT) was first launched on Jnauary 6 this year and debuted at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in Manado, Indonesia on January 14.

“ATF 2012 is a perfect platform to introduce to some 1,600 international delegates composed of buyers and sellers,” gathered at the  Sultanraja Hotel, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, Jr. said in statement. “Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience. Wherever you go, whatever you do in the country, it’s the Filipinos that will complete your vacation and will make your holiday unforgettable,” Jimenez said. Apparently, the new Philippine tourism slogan was similar to Switzerland's slogan in 1951: "It's more fun in Switzerland." However, Jimenez said this was only a coincidence. He tweeted: "This Switzerland coincidence only makes our line truer. Sun Tanning IS more fun in the Philippines."
Meeting with ACCI officials The meeting with ACCI officials was part of the Philippine government's efforts to enhance bilateral relations in trade, commerce and investments and technical cooperation in various fields. Tago and Jeddah-based Consul General Uriel Norman Garibay briefed ACCI officials on the recent economic developments in the Philippines, the investment climate and incentives for foreign investors, and the Public-Private Partnership Program (PPP) of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III. Al-Asmari, on the other hand, expressed mutual interest in strengthening commercial ties with the Philippines. "Al-Asmari expressed interest in receiving any business delegations from the Philippines who visit the Kingdom, and expressed interest in holding exhibits and catalogue shows of Philippine products in Abha, the capital of Asir Region," the embassy said. He added that Filipino workers are highly regarded in Asir Region and the Kingdom for their professionalism and high-technical knowledge. - VVP, GMA News
