Charice to kick off world tour in Dubai in March

International Filipino singing sensation Charice Pempengco will kick off her "Infinity" world tour in Dubai in March. The news site Gulf News said Charice's upcoming concert to promote her new album "Infinity" was widely anticipated after her concert in October last year was cancelled when her father was murdered in the Philippines. Charice's official website listed the following tour dates:

Gulf News said Charice's "last visit to Dubai was in 2010, when she had a concert with singer-songwriter Billy Crawford at the Dubai Tennis Stadium."  

An international recording artist who rose to fame via YouTube, Charice released her first international self-titled album in 2010. The album ranked eighth in the Billboard 200, making Charice the first Asian recording artist to land in the Top 10 of the prestigious chart.

Recently, she released her second international album, "Infinity," which includes the current hit single "Before It Explodes" by Bruno Mars, a world-famous Filipino-American singer and composer.

 

Charice has performed together with top artists such as Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, and Josh Groban. Charice also had guest roles in the TV series "Glee" and in the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel." - RJMD/VVP, GMA News
