A group of Filipinos in Australia will be launching a CD compilation of original songs inspired by the struggles of victims of tropical storm “Sendong” (international name: Washi) in the Philippines.   The tragedy, which struck Visayas and Mindanao last December, gathered “a small group of friends” that now forms the Artists and Linked Friends in Action (ALFA), which will launch their CD, “One,” in two events next month.   All the songs in “One” were composed by Oliver Gadista, who helped with musical arrangement for the Rizaliana Radio Festival in Sydney last year, a report of the news site The Filipino Australian said.   The ALFA plans to hold two charity album launches to raise at least $5,000 for “Sendong” victims.   The first will be held on March 3, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., at 10 Shepherd St., Chippendale. Another launch will take place on March 17, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., at P-Noy Lounge, 24-28 First Avenue, Blacktown.   Entry to the launch will cost $30, inclusive of a copy of the compilation CD, a free drink, and a chance to win in the raffle.   The CD will also be available in any of the ALFA-nominated contacts or outlets for $20. - with Rose-An Jessica Dioquino, VVP, GMA News
