Suspect in Pinay's murder in France arrested

A suspect in the killing of a Filipina businesswoman in Paris, France has been arrested, a report of radio dzBB said on Monday.   However, no details were released yet about the circumstances surrounding the killing of Ellen Ortega-Apilado, 47, owner of a travel agency, who was found with multiple stab wounds in different parts of the body, including the neck.   Apilado was a naturalized citizen of France and a mother of three.   The report said French authorities are looking at robbery as the possible motive in Apilado's killing.   PHL government's move Meanwhile, Malacañang on Sunday reassured the public that it is monitoring Apilado's case.   Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said they are also keeping track of the case of two Filipino workers who were reportedly arrested in China.   Earlier reports indicated the two Filipinos, identified as Prima Ebite Delgado and Marivic Labsang, were arrested in Beijing for overstaying.   Valte also said the government is keeping tabs on the repatriation of the remains of another overseas Filipino worker – Rowena Gomez, whose body was found floating in Hong Kong.   “May fina-follow-up ako sa kanila, yung repatriation ng remains ng OFW, yan hinihintay din natin,” Valte said. - VVP, GMA News
