Pinay domestic workers in Hong Kong making waves as baseball players

A baseball team composed of Filipina household service workers is making waves in the Hong Kong Women’s Baseball League by beating local teams there.   The team, dubbed the Philippine Sluggers, won five of its last nine games against Hong Kong teams, the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) there said.   "The Sluggers are all Filipina household service workers, and most of them played amateur baseball in the Philippines," the PCG said.   The Sluggers have so far absorbed two losses and one draw against Hong Kong teams, it added.   Last Sunday, the team qualified for this season's semifinals by rendering Hong Kong’s Hato Baseball Club scoreless in the last inning. - VVP, GMA News
