US Embassy: No need to 'say cheese' for US visa pics
Most Filipinos are known to love having their photos taken and with a full smile at that. However, the United States Embassy in Manila said for those who are applying for a US visa, it would be better to have a neutral expression on their photos. In an entry on its blog site, the embassy said: "It seems unnatural to pose for a photo in the Philippines and not smile." "However, if you are applying for a visa to the United States we ask that you present a full face photo with a 'neutral facial expression,'" the embassy said. The embassy said "neutral" means:
- eyes open,
- mouth closed, and
- staring straight ahead.
