DOLE: 100,000 local, overseas jobs available at World Trade Center job fair May 1

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said 100,000 job vacancies from 300 local and overseas firms will be available at the biggest Philippine job fair at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Labor Day, May 1. In a news release, the DOLE said the job fair in Pasay City is only one of the 57 job and livelihood fairs scheduled on May 1.  “It will be hard for new graduates, jobseekers, returning OFWs, out-of-school youth, informal sector workers, and even the general public, to miss a DOLE 2012 Job and Livelihood Fair,” DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said.   Baldoz urged applicants going to the job and livelihood fairs to pre-register online through the Phil-Jobnet website, www.phil-job.net, by clicking the 2012 Labor Day Jobs and Livelihood Fairs Applicant Pre-Registration button. They may also register manually by going to the nearest Public Employment Service Office in their areas for easier job matching.   The venues of the job fairs on Labor Day are:   National Capital Region World Trade Center, Pasay City   Cordillera Administrative Region Baguio Convention Center   Region 2 People’s Gymnasium, Tuguegarao (tentative)   Region 3 People’s Center, Balanga, Bataan Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac Rizal Triangle, Olongapo City Nueva Ecija Provincial Capitol, Cabanatuan City (tentative)   Region 4-B Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro (tentative)   Region 7 Abellana National School, Cebu City Abellana Sports Complex, Cebu City Cebu International Convention Center Tagbilaran City, Bohol Panfil B. Frasco Sports Complex-Kai Gym, Liloan, Cebu BQ Mall, Tagbilaran City, Bohol Municipal Hall, Balamban, Cebu University of San Carlos South Compound, Cebu City   Region 8 Tacloban City Convention Center, Tacloban City   Region 9 Pagadian City Western Mindanao State University Gymnasium, Zamboanga City   Region 11 Abreeza Mall Gaisano Mall, Davao City   Region 12 KCC Mall, General Santos City North Cotabato Field Office Sultan Kudarat Field Office Cotabato City Field Office Grand Gaisano’s South Cotabato Field Office SARGEN Field Office CARAGA-AMA Computer Learning Center, Butuan City.   Other DOLE regional offices in Regions CAR, 1, 4-A, 5, 6, 10, and 11 will hold their Job and Livelihood Fairs in 24 SM branches in: Baguio City Rosales, Pangasinan Marilao and Baliwag, Bulacan San Fernando and Angeles City, Pampanga Tarlac City Rosario, Molino, Dasmarinas, and Bacoor City, Cavite Sta. Rosa City, Calamba City, and San Pablo City, Laguna Lipa City and Batangas City, Batangas Taytay and Antipolo City, Rizal Lucena City, Quezon Naga City Iloilo City Bacolod City Cagayan de Oro City Davao City.   Regional Job and Livelihood Fairs will also take place in four Robinson’s Place branches in Imus City, Cavite; Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; Tacloban City; and General Santos City.   “This is not confined in one area because we are making sure that every Filipino willing to work will have a chance to one of the vacancies offered,” Baldoz said.   In Metro Manila, to ensure fast and smooth processing of job applications and other employment-related documentation, the DOLE has enlisted the participation of the National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Statistics Office, PAG-IBIG, and PhilHealth which will have their own booths at the fair in Pasay City. - VVP, GMA News
