Malacañang hopes Jessica Sanchez will win 'American Idol'

Malacañang said Sunday it joins Filipinos in hoping belter Jessica Sanchez will emerge the ultimate winner of Season 11 of “American Idol.”

 

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said there is no need for the Palace to exhort Filipinos to support Sanchez as they are already doing so.

 

“With all the support she’s getting from Filipinos with or without calling from the executive [department], magtutuloy-tuloy ‘yan,” she said on government-run dzRB radio.

 

Sanchez, who has Filipino blood, had made it to the top three in the contest last Friday (Manila time).

 

Valte said they are “hoping for the best” and wishing Sanchez the best of luck in the final stretch.

 

“We are really hoping for the best. We are wishing her the best of luck this final stretch. Sana maging susunod na ‘American Idol’ si Jessica,” she said.

 

This weekend, Sanchez received a hero’s welcome in Chula Vista, California for the traditional homecoming of the top three finalists of the reality show. –KG, GMA News
