Fil-Aussie Broadway star MiG Ayesa to rock Manila this June

Filipino-Australian Broadway star MiG Ayesa will be performing in Manila’s “Rock of Ages” musical from June 15 to July 8 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. Aside from Ayesa, local stars Nyoy Volante and Vina Morales will be among those performing during the "Rock of Ages" concert, directed by Chari Arespacochaga. According to the official website of the famous Orpheum-Memphis theater in the United States , "Rock of Ages: is a worldwide party musical that features 1980’s rock songs such as “Don’t Stop Believin’”, We Built This City,” and "The Final Countdown” to name a few. The five-time Tony Awards-nominated musical features a love story, set in 1987 at California's Sunset Strip, between a small town girl with a big city rocker. Orpheum said the love story is told through the "mind blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Night Ranger, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benetar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake, and many more." Ayesa will be reprising his role as "Stacee Jaxx." An international star Ayesa's first name’s spelling is taken from Mikoyan Gurevich, a Soviet aircraft manufacturer and the maker of the MiG jets, his profile on his official website said. Ayesa was born in the Philippines and moved to Sydney, Australia with his family at the age of two. He studied at St. Patrick's College, Strathfield and later took up communications at the Macquarie University, Sydney. At age 20, Ayesa’s path in life was changed when he landed an acting role that propelled his life on a very different course, taking him to the world of movies, theater, and television. In 2002, he made a major decision when he and his wife Simone De La Rue moved to London, England in United Kingdom so that he could pursue his dream of becoming a recording artist. Ayesa then gained international stardom when he joined the CBS television reality series “Rockstar INXS” where he finished third. Although he didn’t win the competition, he landed a record deal with Universal Music Group and he and his wife then moved to the United States. "I attribute my success to three elements: hard work, passion, and a little bit of luck,” Ayesa said in his biography.
