Pinay raped, stabbed, left for dead by lance corporal in Kuwait
Philippine officials in Kuwait are planning charges against a lance corporal who allegedly raped, stabbed, and left a Filipina half-dead in the South Surra area on September 30, a report of the news site Arab Times Online said over the weekend.
Arab Times said the lance corporal forced the Filipina victim to perform oral sex before raping her and stabbing her in the neck several times.
"After raping me, I begged him to stop and I was terrified when he reached for a small knife that looked like a Swiss knife and stabbed me on my neck several times then kicked me hard on my back," the Filipina, a 27-year-old single mother, said in the report.
The victim, a native of T'Boli in South Cotabato, said she lost consciousness. When she woke up, she was already in a hospital.
Before the incident, the Filipina and a female friend were riding a cab on their way home from the mall when the suspect, in a police car, stopped them.
The suspect held the victim as her residence visa had just expired four days earlier and her sponsor was still renewing it. He let the victim's friend go as she still had a valid visa. The report said Kuwaiti authorities brought the suspect to the hospital where the victim was confined for positive identification. The Filipina said she will never forget her assailant's face. She said it gave her the chills when the suspect even smiled at her when he was brought in for identification.
Dalidig Ibrahim Tanandato, head of the Philippine Embassy's Assistance to Nationals Unit, said they are consulting Kuwaiti lawyers to file rape and murder charges against the Filipina's assailant.
The report said the Filipina was deployed to Kuwait on September 12, 2006 to work as a household service worker for three years and later on at a dress shop in Farwaniya. - VVP, GMA News
