A United Arab Emirates (UAE) court upheld the two-year jail termof a Filipino cross-dresser who was charged with molesting an inspector and jeopardizing her life with an unlicensed laser cosmetic surgery.
The court affirmed the sentence against the Filipino for cross-dressing, molestation, and posing as a woman to lure female patients to the clinic, the news site Gulf News reported on Tuesday. Prosecutors claimed that the Filipino, 42, wore women’s clothes and posed as a woman to practice medicine without getting a license from health authorities.
They also charged the Filipino with molesting a Sudanese undercover municipality inspector by peeping at the upper part of her body and touching her.
Court records showed that he burned the inspector's skin when he removed hair from her armpit using the laser.
The Filipino however, denied the allegations.
The judge said the Filipino would be deported after serving his sentence. The judgment is subject to appeal within 28 days.
The report said the inspector was part of an undercover team that was investigating the allegations against the Filipino. The inspector said when the Filipino walked in, "I thought he was a woman. He wore a woman’s outfit, and had nail polish, make-up and behaved like a woman."
The report quoted an Emirati policeman as saying the Filipino confessed that his sponsor hired him to work in the flat. The Filipino said he worked as a dancer and took special pills to enlarge his breasts.
Prosecution records said the flat and the salon were not permitted by the health authorities to perform cosmetic surgeries. - VVP, GMA News
