Kapuso Actor Sid Lucero stars in three entries in the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival which will be held in France from May 15 to 27.
Lucero stars in “Death March,” an indie film directed by Adolfo Alix. Jr.; “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” by Lav Diaz, and “Oasis” byCarlo Francisco Manatad.
“Death March” and “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” are under the Un Certain Regard category while “Oasis” joins the short films category.
The Cannes Film Festival is an annual event held in France which previews various film genres including documentaries.
Founded in 1946, the by invitation-only festival is known internationally as a prestigious event which is flocked by celebrities and movie actors all over the world.
For his performance in “Donsol, ”Lucero earned his first acting award in 2006 for Best Breakthrough Performance of an Actor in the 4th Golden Screen awards.
He then bagged the Thessaloniki International Film Festival Best Actor award with Emilio Garcia for the film “Selda” in 2008.
Lucero has also been recognized and nominated in numerous local and international film and acting award giving bodies since he started his career. - Andrei Medina, VVP, GMA News
