After going through CCTV footage, Australian cops have identified 19 people who could give clues on the case of Filipina Joan Ryther, who was believed to have been raped and murdered in Brisbane on May 21.
According to a report of the Herald Sun on Thursday, the police intend to ask 19 people who were seen in the footage taken from Logan City Council cameras.
Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson stressed that the 19 people are not suspects.
He explained that these people were just identified to be in the area during the time of Ryther's murder.
He said the police just "wish to speak to them to eliminate them and to ... determine what they saw."
The same report said Cory Ryther, the victim's husband, broke down in tears as he attended a gathering hosted by the Center Against Sexual Violence in memory of Ryther.

Cory asked the public to remember his wife and unborn child.
Ryther, 27, was two months pregnant. She was on her way to work at a fast food restaurant when she was killed.
In his speech, Ryther said, "My Jo was my everything, she was everything to me and now she's gone - and she's gone in the worst possible way."

Small periods of calm, sudden breakdown
After getting permission from Australian police, GMA News interviewed Cory via Skype on Thursday.
“I have small periods of relative calm and then all of a sudden I just break down. My whole world has been completely destroyed,” Cory said in a report of Claire Delfin for GMA Network's "Saksi" newscast.
Cory mentioned how he misses his wife's sweetness and their conversations.
“When I come home from work I get a big hug and kiss. We talk about our work and stuff,” Cory said, adding “It could never be happier. She was the most remarkable woman there was.”

Ryther was found half-naked in a lot leading to the fastfood chain where she worked. She suffered head injuries from a blunt object and appeared to be sexually assaulted.
Ryther's sister in the Philippines revealed that the victim told her before the incident that her husband's friend was sexually harassing her.
The suspect remains at large.
The Australian government has assigned 40 investigators to the case.
Friendly, kind, and helpful
Meanwhile, Father Mars Singson, chaplain to the Filipino community in Brisbane, described Joan as a friendly, kind and helpful person.
“Like all other Filipinos, she is very hospitable. Very friendly, very kind and very helpful," Singson said.
He noted the big support from Filipinos in Australia who held a rally and prayer vigil for Ryther.

The Filipino community has also raised funds for the repatriation of Ryther's remains to Lanao del Norte in the Philippines.
They have already raised 9,000 Australian dollars (roughly Php 360,000).
Cory found refuge in the overwhelming support and vowed he will attain justice for Joan.
“I promise that my wife will never be forgotten. Her case will not go unsolved. For as long as I live it will not go unsolved.” he said.
