Pinay medical worker raped in Saudi Arabia
A Filipina medical worker in Saudi Arabia was raped by her two project managers, according to a "24 Oras" report on Monday.
The Filipina, had arrived in the KSA last February to work in a rehabilitation center.
However, the terms her of employment were not met and she asked her superiors' leave to return to the Philippines.
Her employers then supposedly asked the OFW to pay 5,000 Saudi riyal (or P58,000), to pay back two months of her salary and for a ticket home.
But instead of being brought to the Riyadh for the flight back to the Philippines, she was taken to Yanbu City where she was raped by her Indian and Saudi project managers in an abandoned house.
"Nagmamakawa po ako sa kanila na huwag nila gawin," the OFW tearfully related.
Her rapists tried to keep her locked up but she was able to seek help from her fellow workers. She was then able to file a complaint with the Saudi police.
She also sought aid from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jeddah, but received no help.
The OFW had also sought assistance from the Philippine Consulate.
The victim is still in Saudi Arabia, under the care of concerned OFWs. — Marc Jayson Cayabyab, GMA News
