5 arrested over gang rape of Pinay in Qatar

Five suspects have already been arrested in the gang rape of a Filipino woman in Doha, Qatar, a report on GMA News's “24 Oras” said Thursday.

The report said the five, all Indian nationals, were arrested following a joint entrapment operation by the Criminal Investigation Department of Qatar and the INTERPOL.

The case is now with the public prosecutors in Qatar.

According to the victim, the five introduced themselves as policemen when they entered her home and forcibly took her to an unfamiliar place where they one by one raped her.

The report said the victim is firmly set on pursuing the charges against her assailants.

The report did not identify the victim.

There are about 342,000 Filipinos in Qatar, according to estimates by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas. — Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
