Pinay maid escapes sexual slavery in Malaysia – report

A Filipina domestic helper forced into sex slavery by a fellow Filipina and her husband in Malaysia in late April managed to escape, a Malaysian news site reported Friday.

 

An article on Malaysia's The Star Online cited a Chinese-language report by China Press indicating the victim, 46, left her employer after she was offered a better job elsewhere last April 20.

 

Both suspects have since been detained after the victim managed to escape and notify police, the report said.

 

The report said the victim, after leaving her old employer's house in Puchong in Malaysia, was sent to a house in Ampang.

 

But once in Ampang, the husband of the Filipina "friend" who offered the supposed new job brought her to a motel where he reportedly raped her.

 

The woman also lost her mobile phone, cash, watches and gold accessories worth about RM5,000 to the couple.

 

Likewise, the couple confined the victim in the house and the man raped her several times.

 

However, the victim managed to escape after four days and sought help from her old employer. Her employer, whom she had served for 10 years, helped her to lodge a police report last April 24. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
