Pinoy among 21 arrested in cockfighting den in Malaysia –report
A Filipino was among the at least 21 people arrested in a police raid on a cockfighting and gambling den in Sarawak in Malaysia last Sunday, a Malaysian news site reported Tuesday.
The den was located in Batu Kawah near Kuching in Sarawak, according to a report on Malaysia's The Star Online.
Seized in the raid were cockfighting paraphernalia and roosters, both live and dead, the report said.
While the report did not identify the Filipino, it described him as "attending the illegal event."
Operatives of the Sarawak police headquarters’ anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) conducted the raid around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, the report said.
Those arrested were brought to state police headquarters and will be investigated for alleged violation of an ordinance penalizing cruelty to animals. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
