After 22 years, a Saudi journalist is seeking a reunion with the Filipina nanny who took care of her and her sibling from the late 1980s to the early 1990s.
Freelancer Rawan Radwan wants to see Marie Ning Bernardo, who had served her family with love and care from 1987 to 1992, GMA News' Susan Enriquez reported on "24 Oras."
The feeling is mutual for Marie, who is now based in Candelaria town in Quezon province.
"Sabi ko siguro gusto lang niya talagang makita ako. Siyempre naging part din ako ng pamilya nila. Ako ganoon din," she said.
Marie said she considered it a stroke of good luck to work for the Radwan family.
She recalled that when she decided to go home for good, the Radwans supported her decision.
"Eh kasi nga biyuda ako, tapos eh 'yung kapatid ko nasa Bahrain. Eh tapos naman ako, sabi ko kay Ma'am noon, Ma'am for good na po ako. Gusto ko gamitin ang pinag-aralan ko naman dahil bata pa ako noon, 29 lang," she said.
It is still unclear when Marie, Rawan and Hadeel would be reunited, but Marie said she was already excited.
"Siguro 'pag nagkita kami, baka hindi ko alam ang reaksyon ko. Excited na nga ako," she said. —Joel Locsin/NB/KG, GMA News
