Pinoy athlete overcomes handicap, wins medals in Myanmar, Thailand
Despite his handicap, a Filipino track athlete managed to make the Philippines proud on the international stage by bagging six gold medals in track meets in Myanmar and Thailand.
Arman Dino, a resident of Barangay Alang-Alang in Mandaue City in Cebu, also won three medals in national meets, GMA Cebu's Alan Domingo reported.
The 29-year-old Dino lost part of his right arm in a Christmas firecracker accident when he was seven years old.
Yet, he said he never made this an obstacle to fulfill his dreams.
He urged people with disabilities not to be discouraged, and to take inspiration from his feat.
"Sa mga katulad ko na may kapansanan, ipinakita ko sa lahat na kaya ko at ngayon parte na ako sa Philippine National Athlete, hindi ako nawalan ng pag-asa," he said. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
