Fil-Am singer, hubby making waves with 2.5-minute video of cover songs
A Filipino-American singer and her husband are making waves on the Internet after they posted a video of them doing a two-and-a-half-minute medley of their favorite hit songs of 2014.
The video of Carissa Rae Alvarado and husband Michael, known together as Us The Duo, has garnered 8.5 million views two months after it was posted online.
Despite the video's popularity, the couple told Buzzfeed they would not be doing covers “for a while” as they are now focused on writing original songs for their third album.

An album of original material is part of the contract they signed with Republic Records, which allowed a re-release of their second album and remixes of their older songs, according to an article on Billboard.
Billboard reported that the couple were the first Vine stars to snag a major recording label, a feat accomplished previously by YouTube stars.
Since their signing to a record label last March, the folk-pop duo had several TV, magazine, and event appearances, and had traveled locally and internationally to perform.
While Michael told PopCrush that wedding bells were already ringing when they first met, Carissa only realized the inevitable after hours of Facetime and recording songs together.
An article on the Asian Journal said the two met in 2011 and married in April 2012.
On Instagram, Carissa thanked her parents for being “such a beautiful example of love” to her and her husband.
