Vote-counting machines arrive in Italy for Pinoy voters

Three vote-counting machines (VCMs) have arrived in Italy to be used by overseas absentee voters there in the upcoming elections, a report on News to Go said Thursday.

Tightly guarded by authorities, the VCMs were not shown to media as instructed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

More than 30,000 Filipinos have signed up for the absentee voting, which will run from April 9 to May 9 at the Philippine Consulate in Milan.

The report said the consulate is still waiting for the list of poll watchers that will be assigned by the Comelec.

Italy is one of the top 10 destinations for OFWs, according to the Commission on Overseas Filipinos. —Virgil Lopez/KBK, GMA News
