Pinoy who became US citizen may be denaturalized after hiding child abuse cases
A Filipino who became a naturalized American citizen stands to lose his US citizenship after the US Department of Justice filed a complaint, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.
Christian Oribello Eguilos, 41, of Bellflower, California, was found by the US Department of Justice to have lied in his naturalization interview.
In the complaint, the acting assistant attorney general of the US Justice Department said Equilos did not reveal the cases he is facing for alleged molestation of minors.
Equilos only admitted to the US Department of Homeland Security the existence of the cases after he received his American citizenship.
He is the first Filipino to undergo denaturalization proceedings under the administration of US President Donald Trump. —KG, GMA News
