Slain OFW in Kuwait brushed off early signs of abuse, says family
Filipina worker Constancia Dayag who died in Kuwait previously brushed off signs of of physical abuse observed by her family.
In JP Soriano's report on GMA News TV's Quick Response Team on Monday, Dayag's relatives said she didn't mention being hurt abroad, but there was an instance during a video call with one of her children that they noticed a bruise on Dayag's body.
Dayag who worked in Kuwait for four years, however, dismissed their concern and said that she was the one who caused the bruise.
The deceased OFW was supposed to come home to the Philippines on May 16 but her family learned about her death a day before the said date.
Initial investigation showed that she was beaten and raped.
The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is awaiting the forensic report results on the death of the Filipina as they continue to investigate the case.
The identity of the suspect is still unknown.
Dayag has been a widow for 14 years. She has three children.
The Department of Labor and Employment vowed to provide financial assistance to her family. —Dona Magsino/LDF, GMA News
